Horticulture Sales Representative

Position Details

Product Knowledge Expert:

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of plants, fertilizers, soil types, pest control, and other horticulture products.
  • Stay updated on season trends, new products, and horticulture best practices.

Business Development and Customer Service

  • Engage with customers, assess their needs, and recommend suitable horticultural products or services.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships to ensure repeat business.
  • Identify potential new markets and/or clients, such as landscapers, municipal projects, and local nurseries.
  • Provide advice on plant care, landscape design, pest management, and soil improvement to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Deliver Presentations and publications as technical expert at Trade shows and events.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Horticulture or related field
  • MUST have at least 5 years of horticulture or soil experience.
  • At least 5 years’ Sales experience
  • Local daily travel with some out of state. Company vehicle will be included

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS/MA in Horticulture or related field with at least 8 years of experience
  • Professional research and technical support within horticulture operations.
  • Sales experience in Horticulture
