Peat Field Operator

Position Details

  • Perform daily maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication on assigned equipment to meet professional standards and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Conduct daily inspections of equipment and vehicles before use.
  • Complete minor repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment and vehicles, coordinating parts ordering and documenting parts and labor used.
  • Operate a front-end loader to load trucks and screen material at the screening plant.
  • Utilize farming equipment as necessary to support operations (e.g., tractors, dozers) and ensure the bogs are prepared for harvesting.
  • Ensure that drainage systems are clear of obstructions and functioning properly, and that bogs are ready for harvesting.
  • Assist in organizing the storage of equipment, vehicles, and materials to maintain easy access throughout the peat farming area.
  • Help with product movement and storage, including loading and unloading within facilities and maintaining inventory documentation.
  • Support compliance with all internal safety regulations, as well as OSHA and MSHA requirements.
  • Continuously seek methods to control and reduce costs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Equipment operating experience preferred.
  • Screen plant operating experience preferred.
