Pit Laborer – Ground Support, Light Maintenance

Position Details

  • Per the manufacturer’s recommendations, perform routine maintenance on assigned equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of all equipment, make minor repairs as necessary, and report any discrepancies.
  • Carry out repairs on vehicles and equipment as assigned, coordinate with the maintenance manager to order parts as needed, and provide documentation of parts and labor used.
  • Assist in moving products, ensuring they are correctly stored in designated areas.
  • Help with unloading as needed and verifying quantities.
  • Aid in loading trucks efficiently to minimize wait times for customers and shipments.
  • Clean all equipment and vehicles daily as assigned to maintain a professional appearance.
  • Assist as directed in converting products, operating equipment, and cleaning the area and equipment as required.
  • Maintain the assigned working area and common areas, such as control rooms and washrooms, ensuring they are clean and well-maintained by the end of each day.
  • Help organize the storage of equipment, vehicles, and materials as directed to ensure easy access throughout the pit mining area.
  • Assist in maintaining the pit and storage areas in compliance with MSHA and OSHA regulations, including first aid provisions, fall hazard management, and the placement of fire extinguishers.

Requirements

  • Able to pass a Drug Test (urinalysis)
  • Able to pass a back and extremity medical exam
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • 18+ yrs old
