Pit Operator

Position Details

  • Perform operator maintenance on assigned equipment items, including cleaning and manufacturer-recommended lubrication.
  • Perform complete inspections on all used equipment, make minor repairs, and report any discrepancies found.
  • Perform repairs to vehicles and equipment as assigned, coordinating with the
  • Assists in the movement of product as needed, properly storing it in the designated storage areas, and assisting in unloading and verifying the quantity as needed.
  • Assists in the timely and efficient loading of trucks to minimize the time required for loading customers and shipments.
  • Cleans all equipment and vehicles daily as assigned to ensure that they are clean and present a professional appearance.
  • Assists as directed in converting products, operating equipment, and cleaning areas and equipment as required.
  • Maintains the assigned working area and common areas, such as the control rooms and washrooms, ensuring they are clean and properly maintained before the end of each day.
  • Assist in organizing the storage of equipment, vehicles, and materials as directed to maintain easy access throughout the pit mining area.
  • Assist in maintaining the pit and storage areas in compliance with MSHA and OSHA regulations, including first aid, fall hazards, and fire extinguishers.
  • Continually seek methods of controlling and reducing costs.

Requirements

  • MSHA Trained preferred but not required
  • Able to pass a Drug Test (urinalysis)
  • Able to pass a back and extremity medical exam
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Demonstrate the proven ability to work with teams
  • Must have mathematical aptitude, written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience and awareness of pit mining practices
